The windows on your house are quite possibly it’s most noticeable cosmetic asset. If your windows look drab then so will your house, regardless of if you’ve got a beautiful new roof recently installed, or a Mercedes parked in your driveway.
One of the most obvious cosmetic signs of ageing with poor quality uPVC windows is the yellowing of white or light-coloured uPVC frames. With low-quality windows, this can sometimes occur in as little as five years. This problem can be made worse by the fact that some parts of the window, such as the sill or upright, are made of a different compound to the rest of the window. Therefore some parts yellow more severely than the rest of the windows, making the contrast starker.
uPVC Windows are supposed to last for anything up to 25 years and be fairly maintenance free, however, the reality is that many windows start looking shabby after as little as 5 years.
